Alternative Blogging

It’s “Post every other day” October!

I have been waiting for October. Ever since that wonderful Friday afternoon (September 26) when Meg and I invented “Post every other day” October.

In a moment of insanity, clarity, bravery, and brilliance (it was quite the moment), we somehow concluded that we should challenge eachother to post on our blogs every other day. Every other day (as opposed to every day) because posting every day just seemed like a whole lot of work. We are taking alternate days, so that you do not have to go a single day without reading a blog post, if that is what your heart desires. On the other hand, if you want to unsubscribe so as to avoid the extra emails, I would not be offended at all. If you aren’t subscribed, and want to be, that is fine too. 😀

Meg will be posting on her blog which can be found here: I don’t care whether or not you read what I say. But you should definitely read what she says, because it will be wonderful, as she is a wonderful person and a talented writer. I am serious. I am so excited to find out what she has to share with us!

I don’t know what you will get from me. But it will possibly be the bare bones-iest that you and I have ever been together. I imagine that blogging every day will probably suck the very most basic, naked words out of me. That sounds awfully unpleasant-all dry and chilly. The truth is, I am excited about my list of things. I have a list. I do. A list of 15 posts that I want to do for you.

And don’t you worry… there are consequences for bloggers who don’t blog when it is their turn. This is a real thing that we are doing here. With real consequences if we fail to follow through. Of course, I am having trouble recalling what exact consequence we decided upon, but I know that it is a good one, and suitably motivating. In fact, the reason that I can’t remember what the punishment is is because it’s so awful that I tuned it out because I knew that there was no way that I was going to miss a posting day.

I am talking big.

So, here’s how it works: Meg and I are both posting today. She will be blogging tomorrow, and I the next day, and she the next day, and I the next day, and she the next day… Do you understand? There will be a Day of Silence on October 11. Do not be alarmed. We are not dead. We have not failed. We are just at Faith Builders learning things. We are going to do our best to not blog on October 11. We know that it will be difficult, as our fingers will just be itching to blog, but we are just going to resist. Using plain old self-discipline. We shall conclude the month on October 31 (oh… you say that you are concluding the month on the same day? How fabulous.) with both of us posting.

On your mark…

Get set…

(See you on Friday! Are you excited? I’m excited.)

(Check Meg’s blog tonight and tomorrow! You will not be sorry. I don’t even know what she has planned. I just have that much confidence in her.)
